PATNA – A local court today awarded two years of rigorous imprisonment to former District Transport Officer (DTO) of Nawada Naresh Paswan and also slapped fine of ₹20,000 on him in connection with a bribery case.
Special vigilance Judge Brajmohan Singh awarded him the punishment after he was found guilty in the case.
According to the charges, Naresh Paswan had demanded ₹50,000 per month as bribe from a businessman Pintu involved in stone crushing for easy movement of trucks carrying the stone chips.
Sleuths of vigilance bureau had caught red handed Paswan while he was accepting ₹45,000 as bribe from Pintu on July 30, 2008.
